How to Change your Local Access Dialup Number

This article describes how to change or check your Local Dialup Number in Windows 95, 98 and Me

Requirements
  • The Local Dialup Phone Number is your Area
  • In order to configure your dial-up connection, please look up an access number in your area from our Access Number Search page.
How to Change the Dialup Phone Number
Windows 98 Directions
  1. Open 'My computer' from your desktop.
  2. Click on 'Dialup Networking'' 
Windows Me Directions
  1. Click on 'Start', 'Setting', 'Dialup-Networking'
  1. Right Click on the 'Schat.net' icon (Menu Drops Down)
  2. Left  Click on Properties
     
  1. Remove the Check mark from Use Area code and Dialing Properties
  2. Insert Local Dialup Number under Telephone Number
  3. Left Click on Ok
