- Out Going Mail SMTP needs to Authenticate

Authenticate

Confirm email client version - Click on
Help, About
Click here for
Outlook 2003
Outlook Express:
1. Click on Tools, Accounts, Mail Tab
i. Below will list the mail accounts
ii. The Default Account is the one outgoing mail
(SMTP) will go thru
2. Double Click on the
default Mail Account
3. Click on the Server Tab
i. Make sure that the Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
is correct
ii. If the SMTP is outside of the providers
network
you might need to
change it to the local internet providers SMTP
iii. Test the authentication below first before
changing SMTP
4. Check My Server Requires Authentication
5. Click OK, Close
6. Test By Clicking Send &
Receive
7. Finished
Outlook 2003:
1. Open Outlook 2003
2. Click on Tools, Email
Accounts
3. Dot View or Change Existing
Email Accounts
4. Click Next, Double Click
Default mail Account
5. Click More Setting (Lower
Right)
6. Click Outgoing Server Tab
7. Check My Outgoing
server (SMTP) requires authentication
8. Dot Log on to incoming mail
server before sending mail
9. Click OK, Click Test
10. If you still cannot send email then change the SMTP Server to
your
Internet provider and have the
internetprovider setup an email address.
i. Put the email address info in the
Outgoing Server Tab by
Clicking on Log On
