Using and Configuring Spam & Virus Control |
- Periodically, customers who have Spam & Virus Control service will receive
an email message called a Virus and Sieve Report. It should look
something like the graphic below.
Here you can make sure that legitimate messages haven't been filtered and, if
so, release these messages and make sure that the sender is never blocked
again. It's important that you check these as they arrive, because messages
will only be recoverable for up to 4 days. Maintaining your list of blocked
and unblocked senders is an important part of the filtering process, and will
help ensure that the spam and virus filter is as accurate as possible.
To recover a message, simply click on the link below 'Recovery', next
to the message you'd like to release from quarantine.

- Clicking on the recovery link will open a web page to let you know if the
message has been released. If you want to prevent this sender from being
blocked in the future, click on the link to add the sender to your whitelist.

- If you're using Schat.net's web-based email, you can access blocked emails
in your Quarantine section. Here you can Release or Delete
messages from quarantine.

- To further manage your filtering, click on the Settings tab. From
here, you'll be able change settings for both anti-spam and
anti-virus filtering, adjust the frequency of your Sieve Report,
and add/remove senders from/to your Blacklist and Whitelist.
